Over 100 fine artists from the Southeast and cities across the country gathered in Destin last month to exhibit and compete for $9,000 in cash prizes at the 18th Annual Festival of the Arts juried art show held at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village. Local artist Juan Franciso Adaro, originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina who now resides in Santa Rosa Beach, received the coveted "Best in Show" and $1,500 cash prize for his contemporary artwork.
 

The annual Flutterby Children’s Arts Festival is one of SoWal's funnest and most colorful festivals, and will once again be held at Rosemary Beach on Nov. 9-10, 2013. Presented by the Merchants of Rosemary Beach and the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA), the Flutterby Festival celebrates art, nature, and the migration of the Monarch Butterfly through the region.

Celebrate the 13th Annual Film Festival at WaterColor under the stars with your friends and family at the Marina Park Amphitheater for two evenings of extraordinary films on Nov. 1 and 2.

The annual Seeing Red Wine Festival in Seaside is one of South Walton's most popular events. The 23rd edition continues the tradition of great food and wine. The event sells out every year so get your tickets now! 

This year's Taste of The Beach Wine Dine Donate festival once again delights South Walton with its three day extravaganza from Nov. 1-3. Events over the first weekend in November include Al Fresco Reserve Tasting at Ruskin Place, Taste of The Beach After Dark in Gulf Place, Seeing Red Wine Festival in Seaside, and Taste of The Beach & Charity Auction at the Hilton in Sandestin.

Most of the seafood we enjoy in South Walton comes from the Apalachicola Bay area - one of the world's richest marine estuaries. The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation (MKAF) will host the 18th Annual Festival of the Arts on Oct. 26-27, 2013. One of the Southeast's premier art festivals, the event features more than 100 juried artists competing for cash prizes. Previously held at Henderson Beach State Park in Destin, Fla., the anticipated annual event is moving a mile north to the recently enhanced Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village. 

The Baytowne Beer Festival is a favorite for us here on the coast - excellent beer and food in South Walton at Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin. With the boom of interest in craft beers, the 6th annual edition of the festival this October 18-19 will be more popular than ever.
