Sandestin Gumbo Festival at Baytowne Wharf Feb 14-15

The Sandestin Gumbo Festival has been known as one of the largest and most popular winter food events along Florida’s Emerald Coast. Now in its 31st year, the event takes over The Village of Baytowne Wharf during Presidents Day weekend.  Kick-off the weekend Friday, Feb. 14 at Hammerhead’s Bar & Grille with a delicious Baytowne Seafood Boil beginning at 5 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 15 from 12-4 p.m. guests will enjoy live Zydeco music from Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe, family activities, the best gumbo cook-off on the Gulf Coast and bloody mary cocktails!

Camellia Festival at Eden Gardens State Park Feb 15

The Friends of Eden Gardens invite the community to the annual Camellia Festival at Eden Gardens State Park on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 10am until 2pm.

Visitors are invited to stroll through amazing Camellias, enjoy a Camellia floral arrangement demonstration, learn air layering, (a Camellia propagating technique), and Camellia waxing for bloom preservation.  Attend a program on Camellia care and other plant related topics by Marie Harrison, a Master Gardener and author of numerous Gardening Books.

SoWal Insider's Guide to 30A Songwriters Festival 2020

The 30A Songwriters Festival returns toSouth Walton January 17-20, 2020, with a stellar group of artists on the schedule.

Headliners represent a range of music genres, including John Prine, Brian Wilson, Indigo Girls, and Tanya Tucker. Wilson will bring his nine-piece band to perform some of his Beach Boys classics, and Prine will have his own band backing him on his much-loved catalog of songs. Meanwhile, Indigo Girls will give a preview of an upcoming studio album and Tucker will fearure the one she recently released, While I’m Livin’.

2020 Digital Graffiiti Call For Artists

The Alys Foundation has opened the call for entries for the 13th annual Digital Graffiti Festival at Alys Beach, to be held May 15-16, 2020. Artists across the globe are invited to submit original works of digital art to be showcased in the juried festival.

The 2020 awards will include Best of Show ($5,000 prize), Curator's Choice ($2,000 prize) and three Special Recognition honors (at $1,000 prize each), selected by the festival's longtime curator Brett Phares and esteemed panel of judges. The deadline to submit is February 1st, 2020 at 12AM.
