Down Island Gulf Seafood Restaurant is a modern-casual restaurant that serves primarily Gulf South cuisine, driven by technique to let the ingredients speak for themselves. Located on Highway 98 in Santa Rosa Beach, it’s just a short detour from 30A and so worth it. Cool and comfortable, the restaurant is open daily for lunch, dinner and drinks with a great bar.
Owners Stefani and Chef Brannon Janca are committed believers in the concept of eating where you live. Down Island’s creative menu features wood-fired Gulf seafood in an Italian brick pizza oven, fresh & chilled raw bar selections, and stellar non-seafood options for land lovers. The staple Gulf seafood selections you will always find on the menu are fish, oysters, shrimp and crab. Since they strive to make everything from-scratch, many of their menu items can be modified to fit any guest's dietary needs. The menu is rounded out with a selection of decadent housemade deserts and a thoughtfully created wine list as well as premium cocktails and beer. Down Island is family-friendly and has a kid’s menu with classic favorites.
Down Island combines Chef Janca’s passion for Gulf South cuisine and southern hospitality roots to create a creative, adventurous and inviting atmosphere for visitors and locals alike. Down Island can accommodate private parties of up to 50 people in the upstairs dining space, dubbed Ocean’s Loft in memory of Janca's late brother. This space is handicap accessible by elevator and also features a separate bar, bathroom and exterior entrance/stairwell. Ocean’s Loft, as well as the entire restaurant, is available for rental. Down Island also offers boutique off-site catering.
