Deer Lake Restoration Tour || October 18 & 20
9:00AM | Meet at The Big Chill
With grant funding from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s (NFWF) Gulf Environmental Fund (GEBF) the Florida State Parks and Atlanta Botanical Garden have partnered up to restore highly diverse wetland ecosystems within three coastal dune lake watersheds. On this tour attendees will visit several of these sites to show off and discuss the incredible work being done by both organizations.
Deer Lake State Park is a 1,920-acre park which shares its name with the coastal dune lake within its boundaries. Coastal dune lakes are extremely rare worldwide and in the United States they occur only along the Gulf Coast. Deer Lake State Park is located on Scenic 30A, just east of Seagrove Beach.
