Haz Mat Recycling and Waste Tire Amnesty Day at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park

Join Topsail Hill Preserve State Park as it hosts a Haz Mat Recycling and Waste Tire Amnesty collection on November 17, 2018 from 8:00a.m. to 12:00p.m.  Make sure to be in the park by 11:45a.m. because the event closes promptly at 12:00p.m.

Representatives from the Walton County Solid Waste and Recycling office will be on hand to help unload the following items from your car: Pesticides, Used Oil, Stale Gasoline, Solvents, Fertilizers, Paint, Paint Thinners, Paint Strippers, Batteries, Furniture Polish, Brake Fluid, Engine Degreasers, Anti-Freeze, Pool Chemicals, Insecticides and  Spot Removers.   No gas cylinders or explosives, please.  Due to hazardous nature of certain components in home computers old computer hardware including processors, monitors, keyboards, printers, scanners, etc will also be accepted.

Waste tire amnesty will also be held at the same time. Walton county residents may bring up to 12 tires per residence

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, located on the west side of Scenic 30A in South Walton, offers a wide variety of natural resources including 3.2 miles of secluded, white sand beaches with majestic dunes over 25 feet tall. Three rare coastal dune lakes provide excellent freshwater fishing. Although boats are not allowed, fishing from the shoreline yields bass, bream, panfish, and catfish. Lakes, pristine beaches, old-growth long leaf pines, sand pine scrub, and a variety of wetlands offer a bird-watching and hiking paradise. Visitors may bike, walk, or enjoy a quick ride to the beach on our timely tram service to swim, fish, sunbathe, or beachcomb. Gregory E. Moore RV resort features a (non-heated) swimming pool and shuffleboard courts. Furnished bungalows are available for weekly stays. A camp store offers a variety of camping items, as well as snacks and drinks.
