Alaqua Animal Refuge, an independent, nonprofit organization located on Florida’s Emerald Coast, advocates the general welfare and humane treatment of animals by providing shelter, prevention of pet overpopulation and adoption services. Located on 10 acres in the town of Freeport, the refuge was formed by Walton County, Fla.-resident Laurie Hood in 2007 when she discovered that countless animals were being euthanized due to the lack of a no-kill shelter/adoption organization in the area.
For more than 20 years, the Mattie Kelly Arts Center has been providing world-class productions to patrons in the Southeastern United States. In addition to hosting Broadway shows, the Arts Center is also home to the Northwest Florida State College Department of Humanities, Fine & Performing Arts, and hosts a myriad of student-run shows. The Arts Center boasts a variety of theaters, galleries, and even an outdoor amphitheater that makes it an ideal venue for any style of performance.
The Mattie Kelly Fine & Performing Arts Center is located on the Niceville campus of NWF State College at 100 College Boulevard and is easily accessible via U.S. Highway 285, Highway 85 and the Mid-Bay Bridge. All the 1,650 seats in the main theater at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center are no more than 90 feet from the stage - making every seat in the $25 million state-of-the-art performance venue the best seat in the house!
