Details
Bring your sense of adventure on a Western Lake Trail Bike Ride with leader Anita Page, JUN 24 from 9-11am.
Enjoy a bike ride on the forest trails of Grayton Beach State Park. The trail loop begins and ends on CR 30A across from the main entrance to Grayton Beach State Park. If you do not have an annual Florida Parks pass, there will be a day fee of $2.00 for each rider. There’s an honor box at the trail head.
The trail winds through longleaf pine forest and along the north side of Western Lake. Much of the trail is single track. There are some sandy open areas, stream crossings and the possibility of traversing standing water in lower spots if there has been a recent rain event before the ride. This ride is for bikes with "mountain" or "trail" bike tires and can range from moderate to more difficult in some areas. Helmets are required. There is a limit of 10 riders. Please bring plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen and closed-toed shoes that can get muddy if water is encountered. It is an informal ride with stops from time to time to enjoy particular aspects of the ecosystem and any wildlife we may encounter. It is as much an exploration as a bike ride.
If you need a bike, Big Daddy's Bike Shop is offering a special discount on rental bikes for this event. Their contact is (850) 622-1165.
Space is limited to 10 participants, minimum of 2. Fee is $20 + park entry fee.
