Labs shed and chew, and chew, and will chew up everything you own, and don't slow down on the chewing until they are three or so, but are VERY sweet and VERY loyal. Need a big fenced yard, though. They need to be able to run. And run. And stop and chew up something, and run some more.

I have just fallen in love with the Goldendoodle owned by our neighbor at the beach. It has the features I like about poodles, but the wonderful disposition of a golden retriever. He's white and has no discoloration, unlike white poodles. BTW I decided that I shouldn't have gotten a black poodle. She gets so incredibly hot at the beach in the summer.

A friend of mine just got a pug. She is the sweetest, cutest, smartest thing. However, I am all about rescue dogs. So if you choose a pug perhaps you can find a rescue for them. That is what I would do. Good luck on your search Whitey!!!
