How the hell did this become a thread about war????

I'd put it at the "International Day of Peace" post that opened the thread. There wouldn't be a cry for a day of peace if someone was not at war. As always, hope this helps.

I suppose - somewhat...

Akin to Valentine's Day to spread love - and right after that to hell with giving and loving.

My only beef with special days is that it becomes too facile for too many to participate, give themselves a pat on the back and then conveniently forget about the other 364 days left.

I thought the exact same thing when I saw him struggle to answer and others giggle at his discomfort. He would be more credible though if he had the courage of his convictions!

Fonda, and other specifics aside, it is easy to see we all operate from fear, some more than others.

I don't know that I am brave enough to be a pacifist, or strong enough to live from love rather than fear, but that is my wish.
Those in charge propagate fear with this tripe. Fear is our default emotion setting, and creating a society of paranoid cowards is just what the boys at Lockheed-Martin et al want. Fear is profitable. Love cannot be patented.

i've been told i have a fear of love.

If Barbarella had gone over instead of Jane, things would have ended quickly.

Thank you John R for being so lighthearted!

War is more fun to argue about than Fear - which is often the base for war.

"Tripe" that's a nifty word I haven't heard for a while.

This is very off topic - but 6th you claim to hate hippies - why is your 'tar a former memeber of Phish? Did I miss you being ironic?

The question, beyond being incredibly stupid, commits a false dilemma, an appeal to emotion, and countless other fallacies too numerous to mention. One does not have to make the choice if they want to live in love or fear. I know that slogan fits well on a tie-dyed shirt, but to those of us that haven?t recently taken a bong hit, it?s laughable. It?s like walking into Fish House and having a server berate you with the offering the grouper special or a can of anchovies. I?m there for the sushi.

Would you consider "emotion" and "a state of being" the same or different?:dunno:

This doesn't make sense 6th :dunno: Why would a server be offering a grouper special in a fish house....isn't that where you go to buy fresh fish, shrimp, crab, etc....which would be perfect for sushi though.

Ahhhhh, 6thGen, just teasing you....come on you can laugh now. Maybe if we all hold you down and tickle you with some of Beachbummetts pink feathers!
