Okay...so I don't hate all depressing movies. Anything that was written by Larry McMurtry will be depressing and wonderful at the same time.

Speaking of depressing, I have to get my fat butt off the couch, get dressed, and go watch skinny little college girls dance now...

Never saw The Lake House. Since Keanu has always shown a startling lack of emotional range, I decided to skip that one.

My favorite depressing movies of all time:

Dead Poets Society
White Oleander
The Cure (I still cry like a baby when I watch this one.)

I liked White Oleander - loved the book more though.
A River Runs Through It - 5 stars!
Perfect Storm.
Walk the Line - Funny, Depressing, Heartwarming all at the same time.
Most Depressing of all time: Leaving Las Vegas.

The most depressing movie to me is Life is Beautiful. I have made a vow not to watch it all the way through again. I don't think I can emotionally survive it again. I think I've seen it completely 3 times -- each time I cried and cried and sunk into a depression for days. But I do pull it out occaisonally and watch the first part -- that part is really funny.

He seems almost alive in this one...I actually like him in it.

:banging: The year it won Best Picture (HA! BLEH!) I went and saw it. On my birthday. By myself. Almost killed myself in the theater restroom--thank GAWD I saw it at Phipps Plaza--I had a case of the REALLY mean reds, and just had to walk through the mall to Tiffany's...

(Breakfast at Tiffany's--another sad, good movie.)

I just Netflixed Dead Poet's Society...should I break out the Kleenex?

I LOVE THAT MOVIE, TOO!!! (Yes, get out the Kleenex and then come visit me in my all boys' boarding school, where they call me Captain.)
