Most people are dehydrated/don't drink enough water.

A trick I used to use for my kids to check themselves for drinking enough water is that if you have yellow pee or can smell it (assuming no asparagus) you aren't drinking enough.

It takes a couple days of feeling like you are bloated and have to pee all the time, then you get used to it and are much healthier.

I took some measurements last night. So I know I'm making progress even if the scale isn't moving down as quickly as I would like.
Wow, I wish I had thought to do this. You're doing grayt, too.

When I weighed my weights a few minutes ago, it said zero. :dunno: Hubby said what to do is to weigh with and without the weights, and if the differential is equal to the weight of the weights, the scale is okay. But I'm scared to get on the scales after my setback last week.

Skunky, I looked at your link!

I agree that incessant water consumption isn't a good idea and people don't need "x" glasses of water a day, which is why I shared a tip on how to measure your fluid level that was based on your body's personal chemistry and need.

IMO (which only involves common sense and basic & wilderness irst aid training, not a medical degree) people generally need to drink more water and less soda, tea, coffee, etc.

Miss Kitty - don't worry "my kids" refers to my campers and babysitting charges, not Scooterbug spawn!

OK bug, defend this assertion. Do you mean to tell me that there is a net loss of water after consuming an 8oz cup of coffee? I know, I know, caffiene is a diuretic, but does consuming 8oz imply a diuresis greater than 8oz? No way. I bet one could get along just fine by totally eliminating drinking water and drinking coffee and cokes. I betcha. But this line of thinking is squashed by the powerful interests at 'big water'.;-)
