No, I just think a glass of water or natural juice is better for you than a can of soda or a cup of coffee, especially in a weight loss thread!

My water comes from a tap or a lake, so "big water" and it's overpriced/overhyped designer landfill clogging bottles aren't swaying my opinion on the wellness front. ;-)

well, let me just say I have to have my cokes and my ice water! I carry my personal thermos of ice water everywhere even to the choir on Sunday mornings. (no I don't sit up there and sip on it) i just feel better knowing its under my seat.....

Coffee( a cup or 2) is good for weight loss. It speeds up metabolism.

OK bug, defend this assertion. Do you mean to tell me that there is a net loss of water after consuming an 8oz cup of coffee? I know, I know, caffiene is a diuretic, but does consuming 8oz imply a diuresis greater than 8oz? No way. I bet one could get along just fine by totally eliminating drinking water and drinking coffee and cokes. I betcha. But this line of thinking is squashed by the powerful interests at 'big water'.;-)

Well, I guess if we were made in God's image, then God could potentially either be made of 70% coke or coffee, instead of water.
I wonder what Pope Bene's position is on that.

Wouldn't it be just common sense that water is more easily absorbed, than having to sort through the ingredients? It sounds like we would be making the body work harder to get enough water.

Bene reminds you that God turned water into wine.:D H2O is H2O and there are different sites of absorption in the gut for different matter, be they water, molecules or electrolytes. Besides, the kidneys have a huge role in water/electrolyte balance independent of what may or may not be in the gut.
