I am certain of one thing- there are people out there so bound and determined to see Obama fail, that even if our situations improved in the next 4 years, these people will never accept him. I see that the election changed nothing in these type of attitudes - so sad that people will spend so much energy in such a negative way.

As I have stated previously, I pray for all our sakes that Obama is everything he is advertised to be and is very successful at solving our problems. I am in a watch and see mode.

Losing an election did not change my beliefs or values and where I disagree with Mr. Obama I will point that out, as is my right. Where we agree, I will wholeheartedly support him.

But I cannot understand how anyone can gloss over his relationship with Ayers, nor can I understand why the media did not call him on his obvious misrepresentation of that relationship. Had a Republican began his/her political career in the living room of an unrepentant abortion clinic bomber, the media and liberals would have had a coronary. As well they should, because those people are crazy. I would not want one of them close to the Preident nor do I want a member of the weather underground that close either.

I don't think we glossed over the Ayers "association". I know I personally have not. The heart of the matter is that many of us HAVE looked into it and do not see an issue with what we have found. And others do see an issue...

I believe I would see that as an issue moreso than Ayers. This is because I look at what Ayers did as a protest of the Vietnam War- a tumultuous time in our country. I don’t view what Ayers did THEN as being “terrorism” NOW based on my own interpretation of the present day context and meaning of the word…

I fully expect you to come at me for this admission because of what you will perceive as an inconsistency in my views…
