I was talking about real smiting (is that a word?). In the Old Testament, a guy could get smited for steadying the Ark of the Covenant of God and all sorts of other things.

That was not my post, but yes Jesus did say that you were to turn the other cheek, but I do not believe Jesus would expect us to roll over and play dead when our country is being over run by people that do not understand or care about his principles. We are to stand up for what is right and just about our country.
