Heck, yeah! Very sad, Scooterbug!

I mean, shouldn't one look at whom you are shooting before shooting him/her?:dunno: We experienced a home invasion, so this issue is pretty close to my list of interests. After buying guns for protection and going to a firing range for practice, I know that shooting a gun is not like when we played cowboys and cowgirls as kids. It takes a lot of thought and strength. It's hard for me to believe that someone would use those skills to shoot someone without some confidence that s/he was shooting at an actual intruder.

i don't believe his story

Very sad story, but I agree; there's something fishy. I had a gun pointed at me once when we did have a prowler, my Mother did not shoot me......nor did she shoot the prowler. Seeing us stumbling around in a dark house with a .44 shadow held ready to fire scared the prowler off for good, I suspect. That, and the dog going ballistic at the door we believe the prowler was about to enter.

Growing up with guns, we were taught that you can't be trigger happy and shoot at just anything. Know your target. However, maybe the gentleman truly couldn't decipher the shadow as his intended?

Something aint' right. Why would a 60+ yr old woman be "intruding" in his house at 3am? Besides, statistics are against him when it comes to women dying at the hands of their boyfriends/husbands.

But sad story no matter.... time will tell I am sure.

Of course I'm serious. If we had stricter gun laws in place, people wouldn't be able to just get a weapon. There would be less accidents like this occurring.

As wonderful as it sounds for government to save us from ourselves, it just doesn't happen that way. Stupid people are going to do stupid things, criminals will still be criminals and accidents will still happen.
