Right here!
True...Republican/Conservative and the Tea Party Fringe = Sleeping together and, therefore, guilty by association. Can't wait to see the Teabagger's funloving take on upcoming Immigration Reform...we will see some new insults hurled at the Hispanic community via the protest placard.

More and more these days, immigrants are being viewed as if they were the source of America’s problems. It seems the old Malthusian notion that people are a drain is making one of its regular revivals…

Anti-immigration has always been ironic, because throughout our history newcomers have been a source of strength, not weakness. America still attracts the world’s best talent. And surely that is no liability. Think of it. We can avail ourselves of much of the world’s intellectual wealth simply by opening our doors…The impulse to limit immigration is really a manifestation of the protectionist impulse. And it’s misguided.

- Dick Armey

Which isn't to say that all tea partiers are pro-amnesty. Conservatives and republicans are mix of views on the subject. For example, Bush promoted immigration reform that involved a form of amnesty, most conservatives or pro-immigration, and libertarians (who make up a percentage of the tea party crowd) are usually pro-open borders.

I think you and skinnergy are simply trying to white wash the movement.

I think it will just be a regurgitation of old insults. I would never give the tea-tards credit for originality. I don't want to get banned, and I don't know any code words or abbreviations for these particular ethnic slurs. You don't need to hear it from us anyway. Just be patient. You'll see.
Boy, I'll say one thing. Your response was "I don't know", spun about as poorly as one can.

In regards to your comment about immigration reform, there are immigration rules and laws governing how an immigrant enters this country. All most people ask is that those wishing to come to America come the right way. My ancestors did as yours probably did as well unless you happen to be native American. I am waiting to hear with baited breath just exactly what you think the "new insults to the Hispanic community" will be.

You are correct in your assumptions Andy, and your approach is sensible and sincere--but, unfortunately, you will have no control over what your "other" folks will have written on the protest banners at the protests.

I must say that I have been quite surprised and appalled by the content and tone of many Tea Party gatherings across the country.

Not saying that these people are indicative of all Tea Party groups or participants, but it's hard for me to believe they aren't true representatives of the movement when they're the ones on a podium with a microphone.

Not to disagree with you alone, but I am probably the only one in this discussion who has actually attended a tea party rally and spoke to the gathering. And I was not the only one. Once again, I can only speak from personal experience but the rally was orderly, boisterous and sincere.
There is a real problem with the way this country is headed, IMO. The tea partiers are trying to bring that realization to Americans as peacefully and orderly as possible while still making sure the points get across. Until you find out what their agenda is and how they plan to pursue it, please, as you would with the muslims and others, cut them a little slack.

Andy A., regarding the belittling of a man with Parkinson's perhaps you should go back to the original thread.

I will preface the next statement with a warning that it is intended to make you think not be insulting in anyway.

How would you feel if your wife were in that mans shoes?
