I'll repeat myself: what would you like Obama to do? :dunno:

Stop wagging his pointing finger and blaming BP (WE KNOW THEY ARE TO BLAME) and let folks who know how to fix this problem do it, accept the world wide help that is being offered.... stop trying to talk it away and let's just do it!!!!!!!! As a previous community organizer you think he would know how to deal with something like this...

Sarawind, I'll ask you as I've asked many people, what exactly was the President to do?
...... However, 3 days after the spill started I don't remember tens of thousands of people beginning to starve on national TV. The disconnect here is that we have a government agency designed to be activated at a moments notice to help people in an emergency.? ......

SWGB,.....Obama is way too busy singing along with "rude Paul" (Beatle) the song Michele to worry about a little old oil spill that eventually will cause financially ruin all along the Gulf Coast, and as far as starving goes....what about the wonderful wild life that is not only starving but dying?

I was horrified that as a tax payer, my money has funded all of his big name entertainment, and especially "Rude Paul" who dissed President Bush. There is no excuse for that for any guest visiting our White House.

By the way, the tab for big name stars to entertain Obama is about 10 million so far...and we the American people have footed the bill. Perhaps as one of his biggest supporters ...you got an invite?

. I'm wondering just exactly what you Obama-bashers want him to do. If you have a solution, here's a dime, go call the White House. If not, shut the fug up.

By the way calls from regular folks don't make it in to the White House, (Obama doesn't answer the phone a recording device does) ...even well known folks who have a solution to our oil crisis are being ignored by the White House....as an" Obama Basher" as you like to call us,.... I want him to get off his butt, act like a president, take responsibility for what is happening, and focus all of his attention on fixing this mess! So, Don't tell me to shut the fug up....

""I don't sit around just talking to experts because this is a college seminar. We talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answer so I know whose ass to kick," Obama said as he bared a spot of raw emotion over the disaster.""

Personally,I haven't seen Obama kicking any a$$es...he usually appears to be "kissing up".....in fact the above statement that is an Obama quote is really misleading...he does lean more to talking, holding seminars, participating in think tanks, etc...immediate action doesn't appear to be one of his stong points... I really think that he is afraid to make a decision on his own, (sometimes a requirement of a president,) because he lacks the experience and confidence to do so. His voting record when in Congress supports my theory...he was a vote of Present more so than a yea or nay guy. He couldn't accept the responsiblity that comes with making a yea or a nay vote.

When you start dissing a Beatle, you've gone too far...

A Beatle came to an American White House to play his music. He was paid with tax payer money, which is also my money. He smarted off on Bush, a past American President. Rude Rude Rude......and very tasteless, both of him and the Obamas. It isn't the first time that the Obamas have allowed negative behavior in the White House entertainment. Obama has even been caught on photos laughing and smiling when it occurred. His daughters were sitting there too, great example of how to show respect to our past leaders...WAIT......perhaps they all didn't hear any of it....maybe its like the 20 years they spent in the church without hearing the Rev. Wright.

I was making a wise-ass remark, just as Paul was making a wise-ass remark. Obama laughed because it was humorous, nothing more, nothing less. Bush, by his own admission , said he didn't read a lot of books. I think history will prove that Bush was pretty stupid to have invaded Iraq.

Seriously? You think that Paul McCartney was paid to play at the White House after accepting the Gershwin Prize?

Sarawind, I'll ask you as I've asked many people, what exactly was the President to do? I realize that he hasn't activated the Department of Oil Spills, but, oh that's right, we don't have one. Comparing this to Katrina is vastly different. I'll preface the following with the statement that I understand 11 people died on that oil platform and I feel for their friends and families. However, 3 days after the spill started I don't remember tens of thousands of people beginning to starve on national TV. The disconnect here is that we have a government agency designed to be activated at a moments notice to help people in an emergency. I think the proper question is why wasn't BP prepared? It's very telling that conservatives are suddenly concerned that the government isn't stepping in to deal with this. What happened to business doing it's own thing and not being bailed out?

I'm all for business. It makes the world go around.

Obama should have helped Louisiana from day one. They needed federal funds to build berms. It took 2 weeks before Obama took notice. Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama voted for McCain and Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama have Republican governors. Jindal, Governor of Louisiana may run for president. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Everything is political to Obama.

BP is at least out there on the job and saying they are liable, responsible and will pay. All Obama does is shake his finger and blame someone else. I would like to see him step up to the plate, shake off his partisian politics and behave and lead like an American President instead of a Chicago thug.
Good luck for Obama capturing Florida's vote next time.
