All one has to do is read Obama's history, what little has been allowed to be out there, check out his "close friends" that he has surrounded himself with through his life and now in his White House, digest his words and actions since taking office, his willingness to go after those that disagree with him, his lack of respect to the American people who express in great numbers their unhappiness with some of his policies, his eagerness to ram down bills quickly that's content is cloudy, his willingness to use and abandon those that help him achieve office...his lack of religion...he went to a radical church for 20 years but since taking office...has he attended church regularly or been able to pick a new church? The man is speaking loudly, all one has to do is listen....he is telling us that he isn't the man we thought he was. Sometimes the "wrong" one gets elected, his "spots" don't appear until after the fact, and as a thinking voter, and an American, ignoring facts, and warning signs about an elected official just because he is a member of one's party or "team" is just as dangerous as the man himself. His promises of transparency and Hope were false, his promise of Change was false. His definition of Change is so different than mine. I don't know what Obama is, but I do KNOW he is not right for my country and I am going to do everything that I can to keep him from having four more years in the White House. That's the American way, if the leader isn't a true leader, you work to remove him.

We became very devisive under the Clinton Adminstration; I agree with that, Lucifer. Yzarctoo, it was mentioned to me that Mr. Obama and his family has not been to church (I don't know if since his Inauguration or not), but particularly on the High Christian Holidays of Easter and Christmas......or, Memorial Day Services. I haven't paid attention to this one's religious attendance, but presume our Presidents attend the National Cathedral (open to all) when in the White House or their church when back on their home turf. I am an 'each to his own' person, but if this is true, it does contradict his own statements of his beliefs and faith during his campaign.

I would prefer if I knew nothing about politicians' sexual preferences, sexual practices, religious beliefs (or lack thereof all of these)...

The lack of religion is a plus for me, even if it means he contradicted earlier statments.

Where did I ever make that claim? I make a simple statement of my views and you blow your stack. What's your problem?
Too bad. You are so quick, and have stated your lack of belief in a higher being often, that I had decided to give you the benefit of the doubt and delete my post. I did that but you had already answered it. I was unthoughtful and ill advised to post it. That said, you and the others who agree with your positions, should quit whining about how Obama is being treated when everyone of you, to the best of my recollection, treated Bush just as badly or worse.

Fair enough, I'll delete my reply. Just remember that we all state our beliefs (or lack) often whether they be religious, political or whatever.

Right here!
It (the extreme hateful bashing) all started with the Clinton years.

Yes those were politically tumultuous times as well. I still remember Hillary's "right-wing conspiracy" interview, and the general ugliness of the Lewinski affair. As to which side was uglier or first or whatever, I really can't comment as my political hate speech experience only goes back around twenty years. I get the sense that this has been going on for ages but that today, through the internet echo chamber, things are more amplified.

I've actually been experimenting with tuning out political blogs as of late, and I'm finding life less stressful because of it.

Political divisiveness has been around as long as politics have been around. There was a lot of intense, unrelenting hate from the left during the Reagan years, so it truly did not start with Clinton's administration as it's always present in politics. Having different opinions and ideas and being able to express them is a freedom that may be slip sliding away as our centuries old American way of life is under attack.
