Right here!
I don't see any reason why msnbc shouldn't continue with their left leaning news programs, there's a market for it. But Olberman is such an angry, spiteful man. I think they could do a lot better. They should move Maddow down, force here to be more professional, less childish in here commentary. She has the intelligence to do it and could help turn around msnbc's ratings.

I agree. How about we do away with Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck while we're at it, and raise the whole tone on both sides?

I could do without Beck, but he's not prime time. (He competes with Oprah in terms of time slot.)

O'Reilly's show is completely different from Countdown. You can't find a single similarity between the two. O'Reilly is funny, likable, professional, and rarely looses his temper. His show is diverse with a lot of funny segments that have nothing to do with politics. It's a great show, there are a lot of reasons why it gets top ratings.

I've been watching a little bit of Parker / Spitzer lately, it's not bad. Spitzer's a bit a loud mouth but he makes for a pretty darn good co host.

MSNBC needs to compete with these two shows, they need people who are opinionated and intelligent, and also likeable. That's the quality both Olberman and Maddow lack currently. I don't think Olberman can change that but I think Maddow could if she wanted to. She really is quite smart, she just needs to "grow up" a bit.

Fox isn't struggling with ratings. Why would they change anything?

His professionalism:

YouTube - Bill O'Reilly Flips Out

(I think this video shows why the right is so upset about teleprompters, since they themselves aren't able to use them)

His integrity:

YouTube - Keith Olbermann Neuters Bill O'Reilly

Rules don't apply to elitist. Might as well make a bigger ass of himself. Wanna bet his numbers will drop in a week now that he's been exposed?

Self pronounced liberal media can't survive in a free market. Look how embarassing Air America turned out.

GE can't wait to get out of the money pit that NBC has become.

If you're implying that the liberal mainstream media that conservatives complain about is a myth, I'll go along with that. On the other hand, anything on TV that's entertaining, thought provoking, funny, or interesting tends to have liberal underpinnings.

Local dems break the rules on a regular basis around here and nothing happens. I just figured it was part of joining their club. You were first taught that rules did not apply to you.

Neither local party can claim to follow the rules IMO, but I do believe most of those convicted or who plead out their cases recently were Republicans.
