I'm still a little more freaked out that this has turned into a world wide manhunt for an alleged rapist.

He was caught already and it looks like he put a bigger target on his back by stating he had a encrypted bomb on his site that would be divulged if anything happened to him or his site. He's probably safer in jail. What a dumba$$.

I can't decide if it's better to have a minor charge to prosecute him on or have him just get shot in the head.

Could we stop pretending like he's enemy number one?

The most interesting thing is the fact that he'll have to leak documents showing someone was actually killed or harmed by his release of information.

Can we wait until he releases the BP documents before he's murdered?

I wasn't advocating shooting him in the head, just wondering which path was better overall - a crazy manhunt on a minor charge or a definitive action to protect security interests.

Now THAT is something I'd like to see leaked!

As far as I am concerned, announcing to the world where all of our security issues are DOES make him public enemy #1 (or at least top 10).

They can lock him up, or kill him. It won't stop the data dumps and if they shut Wiki down, three more will pop up. The cat is out of the bag and the horse has left the barn door swinging. The internet changes everything on how information is handled and fed to the masses. Unless Obama gets his kill switch, it will continue to grow.

I personally would like to see what they(since there is more than one person involved) have on the BP spill.

When's the Bank of America dump coming? I think the corruption of the whole mortgage securities market could be more entertaining than a little old oil spill.

They are supposed to be dumping more tonight. I was recently reading that they have only released .1 percent of the info. Yes,, that's point one percent, not one percent. The BP info is supposedly not redacted at all. That and BOA are much more interesting to me than any of the gov. info, except for the Saudis funding our enemies while we buy gas from them.

Do you realize what you are saying... we are fascinated by seeing the truth... we are, in effect, saying "yes, go Wikileaks, go!". And, I think, it is almost ingrained in us, at a cellular level, that we yearn for the truth, no matter what. I'm so ambivalent about this. Much as I know the need for national security, the need to know the truth seems to supercede it. Ya know?

Yes, I realize I actually want to know the truth about the banking crisis and the oil spill, and I'd like to know about the ufo's while we are at it, but that does not mean that I think an American solider or diplomat should lose their life over the spilling of gov. secrets. How the private sector uses our fellow citizens is a whole different story. There is what the news tells us and then there is the truth. I prefer the truth if possible.

But, I also feel that there is a lot of money behind shutting this thing down. A lot of money that doesn't want the peasants like us to really know the score.;-) I also deep down inside find it very disturbing that people are more upset over the truth, than a lie. It shows what we say and what we do are two very different things.
