Americans are supposed to hate "royalty" not worship them.

The very idea that some people are "royal" just by dint of who their parents are, is anti-democratic & anti-American.

Americans who are in thrall to British "royalty" should be ashamed of themselves.

Boycott the "Royal" wedding!

Right here!
Good lord, lighten up! Everybody loves a good fairy tale wedding! They make a great couple too.

The simple fact that you think we are supposed to blindly "hate" people because of our nationality speaks volumes about just how distorted your beliefs are. I think I would rather boycott people like you.

I really did not mean (or say) that we should "blindly" hate people because we're American. I meant that the concept of "royalty" is antithetical to the American ideal of democracy & republicanism. I meant that Americans are supposed to hate the concept of "royalty," in the same way we might hate the idea of, say, "slavery." Our country was founded on anti-royalist themes. I don't "blindly" hate anyone, although I do hate a number of concepts, including "royalty." I hope I've clarrified my point of view. I was really surprised at your strong ad hominem reaction.

The Brits are good for three things, Beatles, beer, and boobs. If I think there's going to be some good cleavage, I might watch.

The Royal family has no real power and William and his brother Harry serve in their countrys military and seem to be pretty decent young men. There is nothing to worship but nothing to hate either.

I think it is inconsistent with our values as Americans but at the same time I don't think there is anything malicious about it. Some people are really taken by this sort of thing, while some of us will never be able to comprehend why. To each his/her own. To me it's just more tabloid background noise to be ignored that will inevitably grow louder after the marriage.
