Come on people. Sexting is immoral behavior for a married man. Nothing healthy going to happen in his marriage from this. His position of power (maybe potence in his case) allows him the opportunity to manipulate for whatever level of gratification he desires. If this does not bother you ask yourself how you would feel if it was your son or daughter on the receiving end of this manipulation.

If it's an adult son or daughter, I would have no say in the matter. One of the women was a 40 year old blackjack dealer. Another was a porn star. I don't know her age, but she is an adult. This was all between consenting adults. I will agree it is hurtful to his wife and his marriage has the makings of a failed relationship.

I do not know enough about the girl he sexted to but I do know that it was wrong on many levels of morality. Unfortunately, there are many people who are willing to overlook the consequences of this behavior for many reasons. If Mr. Weiner (oh man that just sounds wrong) was a conservative republican I am afraid that even a preacher would find a way to justify or downplay the morality issue. If politics and religion does not give us the justification to cheat on our spouses then an extra dose of "liberal" will surely do it because regardless of semantics he was cheating on his wife...

I just gotta say that he seems to be a creepy liar, but most New Yorkers, who are a little more sophisticated than most constituents in the country, will look past this eventually and he will keep his job.

I would also actually prefer that he stay, if only so he can continue his angered, very loud, "blood" tirades against conservative Republicans on the House Floor. He loves the "blood" sport of politics, he is very smart, and I truly love and admire him for that! I really, really, hope he stays. :lolabove:

I don't know if there is ever a justification for cheating, but I tend to stay out of such affairs. I have no authority over people in these situations. It's not for me to police their lives.

Right here!

His district is going away after the next election so no matter what he decides to do, he's out of a job in congress next year. Hence his interest in becoming mayor of New York, which I think is pretty much out of the question now. Some other democrat will rise up and take the job. His future is in broadcasting on CNN (they like perverts there ) or in lobbying.

I understand the hatred in politics but it does not serve the purpose that our country deserves. Also I hope that being sophisticated and smart means something other than a tolerance for social deviation.

Lying is actually the only real "social deviation" here IMPO, so please do not be so sanctimonious in your comments.

I don't think lying is a social deviation. Normal people are naturally wired to lie and do so frequently. Lying about a persnal matter when not under oath is considered acceptable. Lying when your lie can easily be disproven is foolhardy.
