ACLU hint: it's also quite easy to come up with a whole boatload of examples of them working to protect the rights of those Christians you claim they hate.

You might want to consider this:

John 14:6

New King James Version (NKJV)

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

I think that pretty much excludes those who do not believe in Jesus Christ as Savior.

So...you're saying that these verses justify Christians' being exclusive during their time here on earth?
I naively thought the underlying Christian message was one of inclusiveness, love, forgiveness, helping the poor, sick, downtrodden, disadvantaged...
I thought there was also an underlying message of evangelism, spreading the truth & gospel...
Oh well, maybe you and Gov. Perry have it right after all...

Far be it from me to engage in a religious debate as I religiously try to avoid such. But you are misunderstanding what I said. I did not say that the Christian faith is not loving, forgiving, helpful to the poor, sick, disadvantaged and downtrodden. As far as I know Christians are all of those things. What I said was that Christians believe that only belief in Jesus Christ as Savior qualifys one for salvation or eternal life. So, Christians believe that muslims, buddhists, shintoist, hindu, etc. etc. are false religions. They may be good people but they are not saved. So asking a Christian group to allow a muslim to pray would violate their beliefs.

So in Texas we will soon have Christian "only" country clubs, swimming pools, and voting booths? I think not.

Voting booths is ridiculous. That is a function of government and every citizen has a right to vote. As to country clubs and swimming pools, if they are operated by government then everyone should have equal access. If they are owned by the 1st Christian Church then they have the right to limit access to members of their group, ie, Christians. Just like atheists owning those facilities can limit access to atheists. Same thing with any other group: Masons, Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus, The Garden Club and the National Golf Club.

Duck, comma, barrel. Examples of the ACLU defending Christians

DETROIT - The American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan today announced an out-of-court settlement between the Utica Community School District and a local student over the censorship of her 2001 yearbook entry. The student's entry had been deleted from the yearbook because it contained a passage from the Bible.

Schools have the authority to ban all displays on school property,” said ACLU of Virginia Executive Director Kent Willis. “But if a school allows students to post some kinds of personal messages on their lockers, it must also allow other kinds of messages, including those that have religious content.”

There's a lesson for Allegheny County's other municipalities in their battle, and there's a welcome reminder for the religious faithful that, sometimes, the American Civil Liberties Union works as hard to keep government out of religion as it works to keep religious expression out of, well, everywhere else.

Ms. Foster had been running a Wednesday night meal program in the basement of Trinity Church of God in Christ until shortly before Thanksgiving. With donated money and volunteers, she'd been feeding about 25 needy people, many of them residents of the McKeesport YMCA, once a week for six years without any incident.

--Today the American Civil Liberties Union of Louisiana filed a lawsuit on behalf of a lone protestor who was denied his free expression rights by the City of Natchitoches. Edwin Crayton, a devout Christian, sought to stand in front of Wal-Mart in Natchitoches with a sign protesting Wal-Mart's alleged position on gay marriage.

Under pressure from the American Civil Liberties Union of Virginia, Falmouth Waterside Park Manager Brian Robinson has agreed not to prohibit baptisms in Stafford County, the ACLU announced today

You, as so many liberals do, are confusing charity and a helping hand by Christians with their belief and worship of a higher being. They are, indeed, different in nature.
