I don't have a funny story, but I do have a few that DuneAhh asked me to share. About 2 weeks before he passed I prepared some dinner for Greg. He requested something with enough spice (not hot) so he could taste it.(no weak tasting food for this man!!) I opted for my cheese grits and grilliards. Donna emailed me that night and said it was the best he'd ever had and he even had @ helpings, which Gregg France NEVER did!! I was quite honored!
A few days later I was driving down the DR and saw Gregg driving his cart, on his way to visit Foley!! Party to the end!!
Allifunn your cheese grits & grillades may have been the last REAL food Greg truly enjoyed!
It was so delightful seeing him
chow down with true multiple-helping gusto (on something besides gacky Lucky Charms and banana split ice cream covered w/ peanut m&m's; which had become his favorite comfort foods).
I was stunned, and Greg crowed his vindication, upon discovering that there is a whole world of CLOSET Lucky Charms lovers out there... a-Dults who secretly covet the Magically Delicious!!!! BTW: Publix Magic Stars just ain't the same according to authentic Lucky Charms connoisseurs
Darling AFunn, Foley has YOU (and your grits & grillades) to Thank for supplying Greg with the energy for his 'final 4mile foray down the Drnk Road to Foley's' on Alvin the Garden Cart!
Greg named his golf cart 'Alvin' cuz he said
"it's cute as a li'l chipmunk". As red golf carts go... Alvin IS a cherry little stud-muffin!!
Alvin has taken up place-of-honor as Greg's 'occupied seat' at Mac Farms
