Kurt-

Are you nervous about taking your camera out on the beach? My wife has a Canon Digital Rebel and it always makes me nervous seeing her trotting across the beach with it.

we always use the sorta cheap vacuum-type luggage/storage 'space bags' for the cameras and even the underwater cameras - we tape one around the body of each cameras just leaving the lens sticking out - and we also use one like a old timey light bag when changing lenses

before you leave you put the camera in, vacuum out the air inside - its as fresh as a daisy when you open it and the bag works wonders and protects if you drop it in the ocean (experience) or the boat gets flooded (experience), but they do NOT float - no air for bouyancy? (really bad experience) and once back in the bag you can squeeze some of the air out and it's protected again

also good for wet swinsuits, etc - put all the wet stuff in and sit on the bag - all the water comes squirting out cool - wash it in fresh water first if possible or it will sour and stink

squeeze only ones (not the vacuum hole kind) available at wal-mart in the luggage section - seal most of it then stick the vacuum hose in the remainder - whip it out and seal the rest quickly - not as good as the real 'space bags' with the vacuum hole but sometimes thats all you can get
