A whole new level of pet peeve...

NOTHING aggrivates me more than when a job drags out offering you a position for over 2 months - finally offers you a position after they keep saying they will call- but don't- you resign from your amazing job you've had for 3 years, break your lease and basically pay $5G :shock: to do so, lose the best roommate you've ever had - only to talk to your new company for over 1 1/2hrs going over your employment handbook/filling out w2's, to then proceed to hunt for homes like a madwoman, to then have the bosses hubby call you to tell you they've resigned their offer knowing full-and-well everything you've done to make yourself available to them.

I've lost my job/career.
I've lost my home.
All I will have is these cute dogs and no where to go...

Un-friggin-believable.

Isn't it a bit late for that? How unethical can you be?
Seriously- it's against the law to do this.
But frankly- I now feel I have dodged a bullet.
Too bad too- some employees were quite nice. I really enjoyed talking to them.

So- if anyone needs some freelance design OR a decent artist/art assisant for any reason- I am currently available ... unfortunately.

Help a girl out! I've never been this much of a mess in my life.

This sounds terrible. Did they give you a reason since it sounds like you were ready to walk into the office and get started? It seems very strange that they would wait this long to rescind everything.

Well, I have an employee handbook here on the counter that has a welcome to the company letter etc. Also, emails with their offer.

I have not been this upset in awhile.

Talk about a rock and a hard place...

I am now going to be in town till tomorrow morning trying to figure out my life now... if anyone can help- or knows anyone who can I'd be eternally grateful...

They said they thought I was too "concerned with money" because I asked questions about their "bonus" section in the employee handbook. Um- isn't that what the review of the handbook is for? To ask questions about policies, etc? But no matter what their excuse is- don't you think under the circumstances they should have at least let me work for a week to see if I was any good? It's unethical to offer someone a job, only to resend your offer after you know they have quit their job and are in the middle of relocating. They owed me at least a "trial period."
