I have alway's felt that Katherine thought she was better than everybody else. She turned me off about the second week. Couldn't stand to watch her anymore. She is just to self-indulgent for my taste. Taylor is my man. He feels the music deep down in his soul. However, I am afraid if he wins he is going to be at the mercy of AI for years and we will never really get to hear him to his own thing. So, just for that I hope he doesn't win the whole thing. Elliott I know is not as strong vocally as Katherine or Taylor in my opinion, but I sure wish he would beat her. Don't think it will happen, but one can dream, can't one?

I saw an ad for a new contest show for comedians- "Last Comic Standing" or something like that. Probably better for me- at least laughing and groaning will be the desired response!

Yes, I have to admit I've lost the last shred of support for that girl. Every move is calculated, over-trained, so L.A--if they dare criticize her, she gets indignant and her parents complain to the judges during commercials-- that bugs me. Last year's Carrie wasn't like that, she was just honest & pure talent.

I'm out of the loop here. Haven't heard much about family interference or seen indignance really. I just thought she's young and has an animated personality hence the facial expressions of surprise but on camera, she's always been respectful of the judges. I took it more as disappointment in herself but I know there's websites and stuff with "behind the scenes" info.

In any event, it's close now! i think it's Taylor all the way and too close to call on the other right now. I was never able to get in to vote last night :sosad: but unless he really screws up next week, I think it's Taylor. there is a next week between the two, isn't there? :dunno:

I'm not up-to-date with American Idol. Too busy with exams. But now I've turned in my grades. No more work until September! I'M FREE! I'M FREE! AND FREEDOM TASTES OF REALITY!

So, was the female singing on the Today Show today the Katharine from American Idol? Whoever it was, she was awful. Scratchy voice, off pitch, like the best vocalist at every ordinary high school on the planet.

Taylor is a good performer, but he is tone deaf - very frequently off pitch.

They should have kept Paris. From my few viewings of the show, she seemed the strongest to me. And she's from FAYetteville, GA, near my hometown - all the better!

IMHO, that is. :funn:

I don't agree! Taylor is the one who sang the best. He nailed his songs. He has been consistent from week to week. He did especially great on Dancing in the Dark by Bruce Springsteen. Watch it tonight and they will show a brief recap. I am sure that you heard what the 3 judges said about all his performances. He definitely does not have a problem with being tone deaf or pitchy! Now, the other two, that is a different story! He is going to win it all. As far as people are concerned, he has won it all already!
