We want you to come here....just don't act like a stupid tourist. If you can't help it.....please don't come here.

Why do you want to be surrounded by stupid acting locals only?

Exactly! I mean would any of you put an infant in one of those carriage things or walk down the middle of a MAIN thoroughfare / street back home?

How do we know that was a tourist?

I see it as a sign of intelligence on some level if somebody chooses to vacation here. It sure doesn't take any just to be born here!

Thank you, I wasn't born here..............however, I must be extremely intelligent to live here........and not harm any stupid tourist because they push their babystroller out in front of an SUV in Seaside and not even be at a crosswalk.

Give me stupid locals ANYTIME!!!!

I am thinking that the tourists feel that Thirty A is one big extension or driveway that leads up to the somewhat smaller driveway that leads to their second homes or rental houses.

Once off of I-10 or 98 there are no just rules. I saw a mother in Seacrest beach on a bike with a baby riding riding along 30A in one of those bicylce baby carriages-IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WEST BOUND LANE !!!

WOW... I made an assumption that that woman was a tourist...I should have stopped and asked her! Next time.

I've lived in Okaloosa and Walton Counties all my life. I have certainly run into many, many people from here that are not stupid acting.

My point (not well made, obviously) is that just because you are living here (or born here) does not prevent you from acting stupid.

As far as giving you stupid locals, I dearly wish I could give you a couple of my neighbors. Give me ANYONE that is leaving in a week or so over these knuckleheads.

I didn't say that locals do not act stupid............but at least locals do not act like stupid tourists. Some of us have to work harder at it than others. :D

Would your neighbors happen to be from B'ham? :dunno:

Just when I thought I had nothing else to contribute to this thread ........after leaving my service industry job last night (so yes.., I do love the tourists) at around 11pm (worked a double so that was about 12 hours of tourist filled love) I had to very abruptly stop at a non crosswalk spot in/near Seaside when a family of about 10 that included 2 adults, 3/4 teens and about 4 toddlers dart into the street from the south only to come to a stop in the middle of 30A when they realized that the sidewalk on the north side of the street was completely filled with water and they didnt know if the stroller they were pushing (out into traffic) was going to sink or what. I am fairly sure that these were tourists, (since most local families that have that many small children are at home in bed at that time of night) This area is very dark, no street lights, and I could not even see them on the south shoulder until half of them were in the street. There were no reflectors on the stroller, and none of them had those little blinking shoes on, all wearing dark clothing. Seems to me that basic trick or treating rules should come into play when walking with that many kids in the middle of the night, even if it isnt Halloween.

Maybe they were Zombies. :yikes:

Zombies bother me way more than tourist. They don't care where they walk and will eat you if they get a chance ;-)

Ps.I like the term visitor more than tourist. And all I have to add is if you are visiting our beautiful area please slow down on 331 heading south. I've been almost run over whole bunch already this year. I know you're excited and if I was getting to go on vacation I would be excited too, but slow down when coming through DeFunn. The beach will still be there and I'll get to stay alive as well, which makes for a better day for everyone involved
