I don't mean to hijack the thread, but what can I do with old Beanie Babies? My daughter has about 100 in a closet, all with tags still on. For some of them that she just *had* to have, I paid multiples of the retail price. How stupid!
We have tons from when Will was little- and now Kate plays with them- they are in the "permanent" toy rotation. My MIL collected them- hunted then down, paid too much, etc. etc. Most of her freakin' retirement money is probably spent on collecting this kind of stuff. The grandchildren ae allowed to play with the less valuable ones. I love to watch her stroke out when she sees Kate playing with one of our "rare" Beanies- ones that I have ripped the ear tags off of no less! Horrors!
So- BR-- rip those ear tags off with abandon. It is very freeing. I'm not seeing you dickering with the Beanie Baby dealers trying to fund your retirement, so pack'em away for the grandkids to play with, or keep them handy for when anyone with small children comes over.
Oops- perpetuated the hijack. I do have a flamingo beanie though, and many birds. Hope they don't get the beanie bird flu.
