You might get more responses if you post in the dining and food thread. Some of the restaurant owners may respond.
How about steak, hamburger or fresh fish, and you request no salt or seasoning be put on it? With a salad, maybe bring your own low-salt dressing?

I keep 3 or 4 bottles of it in the house and I get it in the Vitamin Shoppe. They have to order it because they can't keep it on the shelves long enough.

is that enough info about salt??

I may have to try this, since the salt I use does run my B.P. up. What's the price? I try not to use salt at all, but, can't help it.

I'm not a big fan of pretzels, but I love the dust at the bottom of the Saltine cracker bags... And just Saltines in general...

MMMMmmmmmmm!

I LOVE a big stack of saltines, each slathered in real butter (butter with salt of course).

DD - I am a huge believer in salt. I love regular old salt, sea salt, sicilican sea salt, and any old good salt. I believe it must be used in cooking to enhance and balance flavors, etc. It can be overused, which is just as bad as being underused. Salt and butter - gotta have 'em.

I have read several diet/nutrition/health books or articles recently which support the use of salt in your diet. In fact, it is an essential part of your diet and nutrition. I've read that there are those with blood pressure problems who need to watch their intake, but the salt is not the cause or the solution. But then, I've read conflicting reports on salt nutrition and health.

It appears salt is definitely part of healthy nutrition. Table salt, sea salt, etc - all are basically the same with different textures and tastes - there are some basic differences in processing, etc.

I love to cook with salt so that a prepared dish doesn't need added salt. so I don't really add much salt at the table to anything except a pinch now and then.

Some people spare the salt when cooking so that you can add your own later, to your taste, but I think this is a mistake because you have compromised overall flavors of the dish. But, that's just me!

Salt - its good.
