Yes, I am familiar with the distinction between a major network's national programming and its local affiliates' programming.
I am originally from Chicago and have lived in larger metro areas most of my life-it would be nearly possible for a local church to purchase .5 to 1.0 hours of airtime for a prayer service or mass on a major networks local affiliate in those areas. That's a big part of why it is odd to me. This thread is as much about my my surprise that airtime is so affordable as it is to stir the pot with folks for whom it seems normal to watch religion on tv.
