As I research rental property, I am coming across many communities/subdivisions that were not around several years ago, or maybe I just didn't know they had names. I have seen Grove by the Sea, Summer's Edge, Cassine Village as well as many others.

Can anyone tell me going East to West where each of these communities are? Maybe you could let me know where in relationship to Seaside, 395, or other landmarks so that I will know the location. I am interested in the communities with homes, not condos.

Thanks

A follow up to my own post concerning Grove by the Sea; is this community close to 30-A? I thought I saw one house was located way off of Andalusia Avenue near Cullman Avenue. I am having trouble finding a street address for any home in Grove by the Sea.

Grove by the Sea is just east of Wheelhouse, north of 30-A, homes. Many full-time residents (like I know a retired commercial pilot who lives there and used to make big bucks).
Cassine Village is closer to Tom Thumb, north of 30-A, apartment-style (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Lower-end accommodations.
Summer's Edge is off Eastern Lake Road, south of 30-A but not 1st/2nd/3rd row beachfront, homes. Nice, though, because there's very little traffic on Eastern Lake Road. New and cute accommodations.

I am not sure but I think the apartment type accommodations are Cassine Garden. There are some pretty cute cottages and home in Cassine Village(I could be wrong). I think they are both located in the same are though.

Cassine has been around for a long time. It is located across the street from One Seagrove Place. The older building are townhomes, and there are many single family detached homes behind the townhomes. The condos, Cassine Station, will be completed in the next few weeks.

Perhaps I am misreading your original post. Are you looking to find out where the three developments you mention are located, or are you looking for the location of all developments in that area?

Smiling Joe- To answer your question-both! I am interested in know where these 3 communities as well as others are located.

To repeat myself from a previous post- My family of 4 (kids 19 and 22) along with assorted friends, are looking for a 1 week summer beach rental in the Seagrove area. We have stayed in past years at Seaside, Rosemary and the Sugarwood Beach neighborhood of Seagrove. My children want to be as close to Seaside as possible, I want a 3to 4+ bedroom/3-4 bath home with a private pool of decent size. An easy walk to the beach would be prefered as I am only getting older ;-) The house would need to be well equiped as far as TV's and high speed internet would be a major plus!! I like a home that is well appointed but at the same time I need for it to rent for under$3500 during the summer. We tend to hang around the house a lot with only a few hours a day at the beach with a majority of the time at the pool. I am the only true beach love in the group and since I plan the yearly vacation, they have to follow :funn:

I just today realized that Grove by the Sea was in the area I was looking (I think.) I had decided that Summer's Edge wasn't really in the area we wanted, but maybe Grove by the Sea is. Are there other communities closer to Seaside that I should be looking at? This summer when we are in Seagrove I need to drive through the communities so that I am more informed.

That would be way to many to try to place with only words. You need a map, and a list of all the developments.

You'd be *much* better off at Summer's Edge than Grove By The Sea just because you won't have to worry about being run over crossing 30-A. And Summer's Edge is newer and more upscale. But it's about 2.5 miles from Seaside. And the lots are too small for pools, but there is a community pool.

That's a tall order - close to Seaside, a large private pool, close to the beach, and under $3500. Trust me - in the summertime you don't want to be north of 30-A in western Seagrove Beach. It's almost impossible to cross that road in the summer. My personal mantra is to stop for every pedestrian, bicyclist, and runner who wants to cross 30-A. But I'm in the extreme minority from my observations.

I personally don't know of any property with the ammenities you describe for that price, and I try to keep in touch with the market. You'll have to compromise your requirements or spend more IMHO.

My house is close to fitting your requirements, but rents for more than what you want to spend.

Pokey, a lot of the rental agencies have maps. For example, go to one of them, say, www.garrettrealty.com, and click on "area map" and you will have a clear map of several subdivisions that they handle. That should help you get your bearings. It's a start.
