Pokey,

I have exactly the house you are looking for. Shutters by the Sea. We're 1/2 mile from Seaside, at the corner of 30-A and Andalusia, private pool, main house with 3 bedrooms and a tower room, guest house with a bedroom, living room morning kitchen, great views of the gulf, sleeps 10 and all for $3350/wk. Please check out our website at:
http://www.shuttersbythesea.com/
We currently have a few weeks in July open and the end of August, but that's it and we will sell out by the end of the month.

Hope this helps,

Shutters

Shutters,

You may have missed my other post; I've talked to your wife and emailed with you. Of course, I didn't sign my email pokey, so you would have no way to know. :D

We are trying to firm up dates with the kids. I'm hoping the week I want doesn't get booked before I get an answer from the kids! If it does, we will have to try again next year. :sosad:

BTW, I told your wife about a new router that might help you get wireless in the carriage house. It is made by Belkin, and I understand that is is great for distances according to the saleman at MicroCenter. I am looking at it for my parent's house.

I believe it is owned by wetwilly. It looks like an awesome house.
It is owned by wetwilly and it is an awesome house--check it out. As a Summer's Edge owner, I respectfully disagree with Santiago's views--but having to cross 30A is a much bigger deal when you have young children as opposed to teenagers.

Cassine Village is closer to Tom Thumb, north of 30-A, apartment-style (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Lower-end accommodations.

Cassine Village encompasses the cottages, the new "Cassine Station" condos and the Cassine Gardens 2 story -townhomes. The townhomes were built in the 80's, but most of them are cozy, updated with stylish furnishings, generously sized and quite comfortable. Although they're not beachfront, they're less than 300 feet from the beach. If you're looking for an upscale place right on the beach, Cassine Gardens townhomes are not for you. But if you're looking for comfort and "homey" environment at an affordable price, they're great units to rent!

Interestingly enough, a few of those "lower-end accommodations" you refer to are currently on the market for $450K - $490K each! http://details.sellingdestinfl.com/details.aspx?MLS=2382944&AGE=1

Pokey, I have a map of 30-A that's a few years old, but I got it at the tourist board, Beaches of South Walton. You could call them and request one. It's the "map of Florida's scenic highway." The phone is (800) 822-6877. My map has all the streets and all the subdivisions that are on them, the entire length of 30-A. This would be really helpful to you!

The condos, Cassine Station, will be completed in the next few weeks.
I know I mentioned after we came home last month that we'd seen this building and thought it was really attractive. I found a website, and the website clearly says it is commercial and vacation rentals. So, I used the contact info and asked when the units would be available for vacation rentals, and a very nice person emailed me back and said there were to be no vacation rentals. :dunno:
