Thanks SJ. I got to thinking about that after looking at the photos. Newbie kayaker + tippy kayak + boat wake + drunk boaters = either unsafe or embarassing. I need to find a good calm, safe place for getting use to this thing.

it was pretty mellow out there yesterday. i was more concerned about getting from one side of the channel to the other, a lot of traffic to cross. coastguard, fire, and fish and wildlife all had high visibility

We were out for some holiday and there was some girl passed out on a raft and they were just floating her around to get someone to identify her. It was pretty bad.

not only is that pitiful, but it is dangerous ... good god i sound like my mom !

Watch out for drunk boat drivers. They are all over Crab Island and they can kill you quickly.

Good Lord, I was thinking the same thing! Not my kind of place at all. Sorry, but I purposely moved away from the rednecks. But the water is gorgeous!
