Why? Because he wanted to sell his stuff for more than the MSRP? Use to happen all the time with really popular cars. Surprising that anyone with think you could do it today.
they were changing an older 2009 car's msrp sticker to reflect the higher current price. i'll say this....they're optimistic.

it was the sales manager at a gm store. the last words between us were" you probably won't like this". i've owned about 50 cars, and i have to say i was more amused than angry. i hope gm goes under.

...an appropriate response would have been--"As a US taxpayer I own 60% of this sorry-arse company...damn straight I don't like it, Skippy!"

There are a few good ones, the rest are pond scum.

We had a deal made on a truck last week, we have been without one for 3 years, since the worse than pond scum thugs stole ours.

We had the total cost from the salesman, got our money together, and called to him to let him know we were on our way over, and suddenly the truck is $500 more expensive, than when we talked hours before.

Why, they had someone else interested, hope that someone bought the damn thing, because we didn't. :pissed:

Added to the list of pond scum, companies and insurance who think they should decide what meds you take instead of your doctor.

I tell you that last couple of days might cause me to start back drinking.

I got a really good quote, $300 over dealer invoice, and they gave me the bottom line with tax, etc., out the door, and no bs. Dealer called me right after I had received the quote for the car itself on the internet, but I was still on the computer when they called. I was impressed, I have to say. One other dealer also quoted, for more $.
Nowadays you can find the real msrp for just about any car on the internet, and make your deal that way.
Not my business really but it seems you are looking for a compact car. Have you considered a Toyota?

[ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NUMMI]NUMMI - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame] the pontiac vibe is a toyota made in fremont california on the same assembly lines that build the toyota corolla and tacoma pickup. uaw workers in that plant have been putting out quality cars for over twenty years there. the vibe is the same car as the toyota matrix and, unlike the matrix, has 2500-3250 dollars in rebates.
