That's messed up. Gotta take a break from this board. Infested by progressive, anti-religious, global warming fruitcakes. Just seems like a miserable place to be, always against the grain of mainstream.

People can believe in whatever religion or not at all. Why do those who don't believe try so hard to get others to follow in their footsteps? I think it's the guilt of the chance of an afterlife in hell that makes them nervous. Misery loves company.

I thought it was a fair discussion. Shopper indicated it was worthwhile. I read the discussion and participated. Not sure why you see misery. It's also perplexing to me that you walked away seeing it as anti-religious when I see it pretty clearly as the minority nonreligious responding to the majority anti-nonreligious. Fruitcakes? Open your eyes and your mind.

Ha- well for what it's worth I didn't say that to offend. Two posters insisted they knew what my mother believes. They had no issue projecting their beliefs onto her so I saw it fitting to use her actual words to set the record straight.

I was feeling guilty (get it?) that we hijacked the DADT thread with the religion vs. morals discussion. So it is only fair that we at least try to relate the two topics. Here's my attempt.

Pelosi and Reed have a few more days. And since nothing positive ever comes out of discussions on the subject of religioin, perhaps congress should consider implementing a DADT policy for religious beliefs.

Bob, I find it sad that at the end of your last thread you said: I can fix about anything but myself. Church can help you with that and you will have a connection that will get you more focused on a good life and not just yourself.

it's humor about other folks and has nothing to do with self love...you are preaching guilt with your statement. I don't do fellowship with narcissists. I find some of the most repulsive and self serving folks attend church. church is not the answer, it's a mental crutch to get hold of individualism and your pocketbook. if you find happiness in a crowd, good for you.

Express an opinion that's non-mainstream among their inner circle, and you you have offended them. I would take it with a grain of salt. I'm sure you don't need to be told that!

I don't mind when people discuss their own beliefs. I actually enjoy this topic and find it fascinating.

What gets me is when people push their beliefs onto others, make assumptions that the beliefs of others are consistent with their own or make judgements of others based on their beliefs or lack thereof.
