My family keeps naming babies with other family member's names and it is getting ridiculous.
It was okay when it started - Grandma Scooterbug and my cousin had the same first name. My middle name is my mother's maiden name and Scooterbro's middle name is Grandma Scooterbug's maiden name.
Grandpa Scooterbug, Papa Scooterbug, and Scooterbro had the same first and last name but Scooterbro went by a nickname and Grandpa and Papa used both their first and middle name.
Then my cousins (sisters) had babies within 6 months of each other and gave them that same first name and made their middle names their grandfather's names. So now you say a male name at any family gathering and you can mean up to 5 of the people present.
And the one baby's middle name that isn't also its grandfather's name (it was a great great uncle's name) is rather unfortunate - as it was also the name of my grandparents insane golden retriever known for it's proclivity to eat poop (and anything else it could find), hump its bed or guests, try to kill the grandchildren by knocking them off cliffs, and break its teeth playing with rocks.
