It's on Ted Turner's station all day Christmas Eve and Christmas Day......you can't miss it. Although, I was wanting to see it last night.

Maybe Santa will bring me a new DVD player. A friend brought over Borat and it broke. Go figure.........

Definitely rent Love Actually - it's fabulous if you haven't already seen it!

Oh, I'll watch it several times throughout the day/night I'm sure, along with White Christmas.
May have seen LA...don't remember. Must be the Corona.

Hello, peeps! I've missed you!

TCM...love me some TCM. I don't put anything less than 10 years old on my official list. I watch a lot of old movies at Christmas, whether they're Christmas movies or not. Watched a couple I've never seen this year--Christmas in Connecticut, (the old one), Holiday Affair, and Never Say Goodbye. That last one was a romantic comedy with Errol Flynn. I'm in love with Errol Flynn now...too bad he's dead.

Why does no one show the Natalie Wood 34th Street anymore? It's so much better than either remake!

I love It's a Wonderful Life for sentimental reasons (one of my oldest friends and I are still "old building-and-loan" pals,) and I really like the similar story that came out a few years ago, The Family Man. (It still has a couple more years before it makes the official list.)

I always watch Meet Me in St. Louis (the real version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" should make anyone sob!) and The Bells of St. Mary's, even though neither are completely set at Christmas. They always show them at Christmas, so they became a tradition. Meet Me... also has a terrific Hallowe'en scene!

I watch The Bishop's Wife every year and freak out every year over how much Loretta Young and Cary Grant remind me of Hop's parents.

And, yes, The Muppet Christmas Carol is, hands down, the best version of that story...

Merry Christmas!

The Long Kiss Goodnight. Where else can you see Geena Davis being pulled through the air on a string of Christmas lights while firing a machine gun(one handed) into a helicopter to kill the bad guy, save her daughter, Sam Jackson and Christmas? I love the holidays....

One of my favorite Christmas movies, and not given nearly enough attention, is Prancer with Sam Elliot. It's one of those heartwarming, realistic movies that indicates that not everything is perfect in the world. Even though it's a low budget movie, the scenery, photography and editing are done quite well. The acting is wonderful, especially the little unknown actress that plays Jessica, Sam's daughter. It's about what the true meaning of Christmas is; and that is family, love, and faith.

I haven't heard of this one. and I shall check it out! thanks! merry merry!

I forgot Christmas with the Kranks, aka Skipping Christmas based on the John Grisham short story.

If you are looking for a "new" classic for Christmas, try Millions (several years old) directed and i think written by Danny Boyle of Slumdog Millionaire fame. it is quirky but wonderful. and how about Lemon Drop Kid (bob hope) with the original "silver bells" as part of the score?

We are giving It's a Wonderful Life and Christmas Story a rest - for maybe 5 or more years! - because we have overdosed on them. White Christmas and Miracle on 34th Street (natalie wood version) are must-watches at our house too. We see a stage version of A Christmas Carol every year and couldn't have Christmas without it, but would substitute the Alastair Sim version if necessary.

Merry Christmas to all!

Just watched White Christmas on AMC(?) and I cry like a baby every time I see it--the musical number at the end with the troops has got to be one of the sweetest scenes of any movie, ever. They're playing it all day and all night, if you haven't caught it yet!

We'll follow the old man... La la la lala la!
