I kept meaning to ask you why you weren't outing yourself--afraid of jealousy backlash, I'm guessing!

Here is the best tip I can give anyone on garage sales..... Do not have one! Call Caring and Sharing of South Walton and they will come and pick everything up. You will have nothing left to do but go enjoy your life and day. They will give you a receipt for the amount that the stuff is really worth. No messes. The you get to write it off your taxes and help some needy folks out!!! Whew! That was easy :clap_1: I feel so much better that I got that out!

That might work. However JDarg lives in Kentucky! I live in Georgia! Not such luck with folks showing up to cart the old stuff away!

I have no problem, nor would jdarg helping out the folks that could benefit. But thanks for the advice.

UP, put your money where your mouth is. Call up Seaside and tell them their October yard sale is ridiculous...let 'em have it! And be sure to provide them with plenty of tax receipts. I'm sure the greedy little buggers will want them. ;-)

Just wondering do they not have those kinda places (Caring and Sharing, Goodwill, etc.) in Ky and Ga? I am also just having fun. I know sometimes a buck is needed any way you can get it. I had a gallery/furniture/funk shop for ten years. I guess you could say a bona fide garage sale year round. My experiance with the garage sales was at the end of all of it I always lost money... :bang: Seems easier to have them take it away and end my pain. Plus the removal of clutter allows my mind to free up. Free mind equals more money :D

What about American Cancer Society? I know not every town has them locally. But if you do, I believe they will come and pick up ALL of your stuff. Even the junkiest junk you couldn't sell. I always feel bad when our church has them come to take the remains of what didn't sell, but they seem thankful to get it.

I have been stocking the local Goodwill for years. I'm usually about as Caring and Sharing as you get. As I said, I just want a little kayak/canoe money. Oh, and any extra money can be put toward INSURING whatever house we end up buying in SoWal.:bang:

BTW- the attendees at my garage sale will pay ALOT less for stuff at my sale than they will at my local Goodwill, who marks everything at a premium knowing the country club moms shop there for "steals". I had a garage sale 3 years ago, and felt pretty good when we helped a young family outfit their entire nursery for about $30.
