Yes Dbuck, I will be taking my omegas with my meals, it should help.

Allifunn, I forgot about advocados. I can eat my weight in those too. Guacamole would help get that nasty yellow paste medicine down.
Good idea.

SJ, I'll look for the creamy macs recipe. Love those too. I just have to be careful about cheeses, nuts or anything that can give affect the flora since I'll be on multiple antibiotics too. No bread either.
I guess I'll be putting my butter on something. maybe a pita. or I'll buy that yucky yeast free bread.

Thanks for all the advice. I knew I could count on y'all.

I found this pretty good link with fat content by grams.

Avocadoes are both high in fat and healthy. I think adding olive oil is also a way to add healthy fat to your diet.

Unhealthy suggestions - back when I had to work hard to get enough fat/calories I would add butter to hot chocolate, eat peanut butter straight, and add bacon or fatty sausage meats to recipes.

Wrapping scallops, beef or venison in bacon then grilling also adds fat to those meats, as does broiling trout or similar fish w/ a slice of bacon on top.

Avacados, I believe, are "good" fat candidates. I can eat my weight in guacamole with lots of lime, tomatoes, onions & a little mayo & sour cream
This is exactly what I was about to say! An avocado sandwich with lettuce and tomato & a little mayo is heavenly.

Avocados and guac came to mind immediately, Mangy, but I see Alli already suggested it. I hope someone comes up with another good alternative, though, because eating something you love every day can make it lose its favorite status. :sosad:
Hey, what about some of those yummy butters that Trader Joe's has? I know there's almond and maybe cashew.

I thought the term "good fats" was redundant...they're all yummy. :D

Get better, Mango dear! I don't like knowing that you're sick...

Paula Deen's Krispy Creme Donut Bread Pudding w/Butter Rum Sauce
washed down with a H?agen-Daz Triple Chocolate Milk Shake....you don't have to eat it, just reading the recipe will provide you with the fat you require.

Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding
2 dozen (stale) Krispy Kreme donuts*
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
2 (4.5-ounce) cans fruit cocktail (undrained)
2 large eggs, beaten
1 (9-ounce) box golden raisins
Pinch salt
1 or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Butter Rum Sauce (recipe follows)
  1. Generously grease a 13 x 9-inch glass baking dish.
  2. Cube donuts into prepared baking dish.
  3. Mix remaining ingredients together and pour over doughnuts and let soak for about 30 minutes (or cover and place in refrigerator overnight).
  4. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350*F.
  5. Bake for about 1 hour until center is firm. Serve warm with Butter Rum Sauce drizzled over individual servings.
Makes 12 servings.
*If Krispy Kremes are not unavailable in your area, you can substitute with other glazed doughnuts. However, you should take into consideration that a Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut is about 3/4 the size of other well-known glazed doughnuts, so you may only need about 1 1/2 dozen of the other brand.

Butter Rum Sauce
1/2 cup butter
1 (16-ounce) box powdered sugar
Rum, to taste
  1. Melt butter and slowly stir in powdered sugar. Add rum to taste, and heat until bubbly. Pour over individual servings of the bread pudding.

Funny how we all jump in with recipes about healthy foods, but we are too ashamed to share our daily recipes with you, Mango. How about a cheeseburger pie -- yummy! Check the back of the BisQuick box. That is filled with enough fat to last you a lifetime. Also check out the best Mac and Cheese that I've ever eaten, thanks to IBD, google "Fall on your knees mac and cheese." Good stuff.

shut yo mouf youngun!

I'm having a hard time thinking up high fat meals that contain healthy fat! I don't think mac & cheese works. but, I think mangy can probably combine good fats with just fattening foods.

definitely use olive oil on everything. maybe flax oil too? I make a butter bean tomato soup over pasta, get a big ole serving in a bowl and pour olive oil over the top (italian dish). delish.

Mango--Thought I would help you w/ a breakfast idea. I found this a few years ago while on the zone program. You could just add more peanut butter to get you in your fat zone.

Make some oatmeal w/ steelcut oats for max health benefit--or quick oats if in a hurry, sweeten w/ stevia if needed and add a spoon of peanut butter---something like smuckers natural organic which has 16g fat per 2tbs. If you are trying to balance and add protein go w/ adding a soy vanilla protein powder low in carbs.
