We are going to see it today! My 11 year old daughter has read all the books. I've read the first three. What is amazing though is that the movies are almost just like you imagine.

We just got back from the movie. We have a new Rave theater that just opened and we went there. It was really cool. Big comfy seats that lean back a little and the arm that rests go up ( I had 2 kids moving in close during those scary scenes) and lots of leg room and the sound was incredible. We loved the movie. Jdarg, you're right...2 and 1/2 hours and I could have stayed for more. I had no idea we were even near the end since I haven't read this book. I also only saw only a few kids. The theater was filled with mostly adults! Both mine say it was the scariest movie they had ever seen. (they don't watch anything scary and usually only PG or G movies) I'm going to start the book now.

Speaking of fantasy... no one has mentioned the Narnia Chronicles! To us, those are the best of the best. Then, the Lord of the Rings books. We tried the HP books, read a couple, but just couldn't make it thru to the end after the 1st 2. We've said many times, that we just don't get the hype. But LOVED the Lord of the Rings (and the soundtrack), but you have to read the books first to have that feeling of loyalty. Same with Narnia. Those were always our very favorites! Can't wait for the movie!!!

I remember reading "The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe" in the 4th grade, so I cannot wait to see in when it hits the big screen. Remember the Turkish Delights? After reading that part I would always get hungry for a turkey sandwich :D
