We left. Too much traffic -- we didn't even go to our favorite spots because the traffic was so bad. Long waits at restaurants. It just wasn't relaxing with the crowds and parking hassles. Oh, and BTW, the Seaside Amphitheater still has water issues as evidenced by the sludge and cones to keep kids away from the sludge. You'd think that what was spent on this project would have fixed this.

Yes, Memorial Day weekend is the OPEN of Summer Season and every year the weekend is HUGE at the beach! I've had plenty of family and friends in town who all had an absolute blast. We did not go to the beach with them since we can do this any other time - let the visitors enjoy! We'll be out there at sunset all summer long.

Thanks to Nick's at the Beach for hosting all my crazy family last night! They loved the food and all the love!

I had a doctor appointment today. We bumped into each other last Wednesday at Seagrove Publix. He asked if we had a good time at the beach. I said we left early because the traffic and the parking and the crowds were too annoying. We own our home, so we pay for it whether we're there or not, and we don't rent it. He was renting (so it's not like he can be there whenever he wants due to his patient schedule), and he said they had planned to stay until Monday but left on Saturday for the same reasons that we left. I have talked to others who left on Saturday even though they had paid through Monday for their rentals.

I think we need a moratorium on new development.

EDIT: What are the least crowded times in June and July? When we rented our other house, July 4th week was typically the last week to rent. Go figure.
