I just remembered another one.

My perfect beach
Is this close to Venice, LA? That's where Sunkist's husband's going on Mother's Day. It sounds similar.
And, yes, I laughed too. Sorry...:rotfl:

Don't apologize. The worst trips make for the best stories. :D And yes, Venice is just down the road, but from what I understand their accommodations are considerably better. Believe it or not, both Mr. C & Jr. insist they've stayed in camps even worse than those. Sorry, momma just don't love fishin' quite that much.

Gatlinburg in the summer is definitely a gridlock of traffic, much like the beach area during the summer or Easter week.

Off season is the time to go and if you can't, then avoid Gatlinburg completely and take the scenic route into the park through Townsend, no traffic and very beautiful.

As to dining the Burning Bush Restuarant, Brass Lantern, Calhoun's, Wild Plum Tea Room, Park Grill, Peddler Steakhouse and Corky's are great places to eat.

these places are no longer there.....just fyi :D

RENO, NV! Husband had a seminar there. We don't gamble so there was nothing to do. Nasty area. They did have good chocolate, Ethel M's..... Tahoe was pretty, but Tahoe isn't Reno.

Don't be picking on Helen GA - that's where my honeymoon was. And being as I can find happiness in watching corn grow, I had a wonderful time there. :D

I honestly have no other places that I'd never go again, since Jimmie's Citgo (I-10, near Lee) burned down. That was pretty much it.

Wisconsin Dells
Never again. Never, ever.
The Dells rock!
Biggest waterpark in N. America, quality mini-golf, tours of natural wonders in WWII amphibious landing vehicles, and all the giant fiberglass animals you'd ever want!

Gary, Indiana is not so great either.
Gary is truly the armpit of Chicago! Poor Mama Scooterbug got lost and ended up in the Gary red light district one time! Made quite an impression. Their stank rivals Perry!

I forgot about the waterparks. Those amphibious things were pretty cool.
But once is enough, don't you agree?

Yes, Perry Florida. What a pit. It's an aging relic that did quite well in the 50's and was killed by I-10. Now it's a paper mill that makes your eyes water and a 5 mile long string of strip malls, old motels, and car dealerships. The funny thing is that wherever you are in Perry you're in the red light district.
