Nope never heard that. Spent my honeymoon there, spent many wonderful family vacations there, it was my Dad's favorite place to visit and therefore I will always think of it fondly.

My Mom goes there as often as possible due to it being their special place.

Another man's trash is always someone else's treasure.

after leaving these places I have remarked that I never needed to return. once was enough. but I've returned to Orlando many times (and on my way out of town I never fail to announce that I never need to return, ever). I have not returned to Rome but secretly hope to but this time it will be sans backpack.
