I can't wait for election returns (and for this mess to be over) - I really don't think it will be the crushing Republican victory you are expecting.

Yes, I expect Republicans to gain seats, but you seem to think St. Peter (because Jesus is a liberal) and Ronald Reagan are going to appear above the Capitol building and hand Boehner a gavel and tax cut bills carved on stone tablets.

I'm not so certain it will be a huge victory for Republicans either, rather a statement against the incumbents.....could go either way.

I agree (note, typing those words in the political forum will NOT make your computer explode).

I think people are voting more against politricks and what has been happening than FOR Republicans.

Right here!
In the House I expect pretty significant gains, 50 - 60 seats, maybe more. That kind of turn over is fairly unprecedented.

However in the Senate, there aren't enough seats up for grabs to give republicans a good shot at a take over. So my guess is we end up with a 48/2/49 split, with two independents caucusing with the dems.

That will set up an excellent balance - republicans controlling all spending initiatives via the House, and the senate / president acting as a back stop.

I would never put blame where I am not sure it belongs, but our lives have changed in the last two years.

We have lost a great deal of our retirement fund and we have many friends who have lost jobs.

Due to those that have lost jobs my husband works much more than before with less time off, trying to cover their jobs. This has caused him much physical injury.

Crime is up in areas, where my Mom lives, that never occured until now. So many are out of work, they have turned to crime.

As to whether a particular President is to blame; absolutely have no idea but our lives have changed.

It's good to see you trying to rationalize the loss in your mind. It inspires hope...

You keep talking about a loss and these amazing poll numbers, oddly when asked for a source you're silent.

I think it REALLY all depends on where you live, if you are employed (and by whom), and if/when you purchased a house.

Some friends of mine have done quite well the last couple of years - because their jobs were in unaffected industries, their company continued to expand, and they could finally afford to buy houses.

Others have had pay freezes, furloughs, etc. and lost money in real estate deals.

But most of the money I "lost" in the stock market is back - and it kept earning dividends.

Give him a red chicklet if he doesn't respond to you. :D
