I really do regret the fact that Carter is correct in his statement. but I think it needs more explanation. it is my experience that racist people rarely recognize that they ARE racist. so, they just can't understand what Carter, or anyone else, is talking about. so, if Carter, or anyone else is going to come out and make this statement, I think they had better be ready to explain fully what they mean.

I can't really voice it, but I know racism is at least part of what we are seeing/hearing from some. and I deeply regret it on behalf of my country.

Are you saying, that since I dont think Wilsons comment was racist, or understand why Carter would say that he is, that I am a racist???

not sure who you are asking, but my response would be absolutey NOT. its purely a matter of personal opinion. at least, that is how I see it.

I am just saying I think Carter has a good idea of what he is talking about... but I'm not so sure he needed to say it as he did. it really does not accomplish anything. and that is just my own thoughts on it

I don't know if Wilson is racist or not, I would never label someone that way based on one situation of showing extremely bad manners and rude behavior. He chose the wrong moment to make a point that I do know for sure.

But this I do know, it is very easy to make comments about things one has not lived and many do that especially the media.

I live in probably one of the most, if not the most racially divided city in the US.

And the main reason it does not improve is that people of both races do not want it to improve, they use the race card to their personal advantage both black and white.

We have been subjected over the last several years to the most incomptent major anyone could possibly have to endure. He is arrogant, thinks he is above the law, has let the city be over run with crime, wasted so much taxpayer money to his own personal gain; that there is not one single person other than his personal entourage that supports him.

The point of all this is, he is black. If any white person criticizes him they are labeled racist, if any blacks criticize him they are labeled well versed and educated.

Why should the same opinion be labeled due to the color of one's skin. :dunno:

Until we move past that, we are doomed to live in the past.

Your statement, Scooter, doesn?t hold water considering what Jimmy Carter has done for human rights, peace, agriculture, diseases, election monitoring, Habitat For Humanity. ....

If you want to talk about his comments regarding Joe Wilson, then do that but don?t assume all republicans, or even very many, cannot see the value of many of Carter?s achievements.

One former Carter White House aide, Jack Watson, offered this thought:
"Someone once said, and I agree with them, that he is the only man in American history ... who used the United States presidency ... as a stepping stone to greatness."

I wouldn't assume that either- not every Republican believes the same way you do, just like every Democrat does not believe like me. My Republican friends don't like to be lumped in with the ranters and haters and neo-conservative types. And while they may not liked Jimmy Carter's choice of words, they understand his thoughts behind them.

When one is going to rant, they need to speak for themselves.

The exact thing can be said of our President's racist views, Bob, and you know it.

Yep, Obama hates white people. His mother was white. I'm sure he despised her and was relieved that she died at such an early age so that he could get on with his messianic anti-white crusade against all that is white. Of course he's white himself. Didn't some say that Hitler might have been Jewish?? Interesting, maybe the moustachers are on to something with this fasciaocialist thingie. I'll have to email Glenn Beck and find out what he has to say about this. Maybe Limbaugh as well.

Good for him on Habitat, etc. Very admirable to do such work on a continuing basis. However, he should stick to the charitable work and stay 100% away from the media.

Just because someone has done some humantarian work does not mean that they aren't still nuts or completely out of touch. Carter was the worst president in modern history and his continuing comments in the spotlight (Hamas, Joe Wilson, etc) continue to show just how pitiful he is on the world stage. No sense whatsoever in that aged brain.

It's embarrassing to listen to the guy talk.

So, far, I like the GW low profile post presidency. Much like his dad. Not like the Clinton or Carter-got to stay in the news-post presidencies.

Thanks Fisher. I agree regarding Carter's presidency. He was the worst President of my lifetime. Doesn't everyone remember the '80's. Come one, come all - murderers, thieves, drug smugglers. Yes, you are all welcome to live in the United States.:bang:
