They don't make 'em like Julia Child anymore. She was such a wonderful character! When my parents still lived in New England, they'd run into her every now and then at Bread & Circus in Cambridge. Once when it was raining Julia walked out of the grocery with a bag over her head. She was nothing if not practical and totally down to earth and approachable. The movie looks pretty good!

I'm excited too. I'm sure Meryl Streep will give us another perfect performance and will not disappoint! Who better than Meryl except maybe Dan Aykroyd. ;-)

Meryl Streep even looks a little like Julia Child.
Saturday Night Live was hilarious back then. If you watch Dan Ackroyd closely his shoulders are doing the same thing in the "Two Wild and Crazy Guys" sketch.

I am very excited too! The previews look funn and it's an interesting idea. Haven't read the book it is based on yet.

30-A television is doing a premiere at the Rave Sunday afternoon. Cooking demonstration w/ 3 local chefs.

I can't wait to see the movie because

this book is one of the flat out funniest books I've ever read in my life.
I LITERALLY fell out of my chair laughing (because I was wetting myself and didn't want to have to clean the upholstery!)

I heard it's a chick flick. Did Mrs. Kurt make you take her to see it, or am I misinformed?

I am definitely anxious to see it ... when it comes out on DVD. ;-) I love Meryl Streep.
