Does anyone really think there is any danger of human extinction because of this ruling? Of course not.

They're afraid this ruling will cause them to engage in same sex. They're very rule oriented.

I doubt anyone believes same sex marriage would lead to extinction. Human behavior will take care of that issue more than likely without any help from this ruling. However I am not sure what it means regarding shifting family values. I don't really think it means a whole lot but I guess we will now find out.

Not sure what family values means. As there are so many kinds of families. This has been the case for a very long time now.

I assume that family values are shifting from the traditional man and woman home into single mom, single dad, man/man and woman/woman. From this ruling there will be more man/man and woman/woman. Does this affect family values I have no idea. Probably not.

Family groups shifted many years ago even when President Reagan coined the term to try to define a family. He just didn't realize it. You can't shove a family into your definition. Never could.

If you quote parts of the Bible, then practice all of the Bible. Otherwise you're just another hypocritical person who thinks they get to judge.

And yes, I am a practicing, church attending, Christian. But I've read the book and it tells me not to judge. Only God has that right.

The very act of saying you are a Christian separates you from your fellow man. It is a defacto judgement and the well source of most violence in the world. It's what we do as humans. We like to "define" ourselves under branding.

The Bible is a great book of history, philosophy, stories, poems, beautiful and also bizarre scenes and laws from ancient times, and teachings that religions use and twist for good and bad.

I don't see what it has to do with civil rights and equality for EVERYONE in America.

I wish people wouldn't use the Bible as a weapon against children who are born gay, to make them feel there is something wrong with them. Ruining their lives. Causing them to never live, love, find happiness. Causing them to take their own lives in many cases. Causing homophobic people to judge them harshly. Causing lovers to keep their secret. Or to never love. Or to be in danger for their lives. Use the Bible for goodness. Use it for your life. Do unto others...

I love the stories coming out this week about 80 something year old lovers who have been together for decades, finally able to say I Do. I wish them happiness. And safety.

Our world is constantly evolving. I think we're ready to accept same sex marriage. And it's about time. I think of friends and relatives who lived in secrecy over the years. They deserve to live and love, as we all do. Openly and with all the benefits and heartache that we all experience.
