www.zappos.com

Has customer reviews/star ratings like Amazon.

Zappos has an outlet is in Shepherdsville KY, south of Louisville right off I-65! Haven't been there yet, heard it is hit or miss, but really great when it is a hit!

Michigan but someday in SoWal as well
Well, I may be tempted to get something other than Eccos with all the advice here. SJ, my winter clogs by Dansko are definitely better for standing than walking long distances for sure. But I saw some sandals in the store window that I'll try. The reason Ecco is so comfortable is the soles are cork so they don't feel stiff. Anyway, I'll be shopping for sandals this weekend I hope.

I can't wear flip flops. Those straps between my toes drive me crazy.

I can't either Paula, I never have been able to wear anything between my toes. Even if it is cloth, it still hurts me. SO, my sandal of choice alway's has been Burks....I love them!!!!!!

My favorite flip-flops in the whole world were a pair of Kenos that a friend brought back form Key West. Simple, comfortable, CHEAP. They were like $7-$10. My hubby and I went down to the beach after brunch at the Red bar one Sunday. I left my flips at the end of the boardwalk and when I returned...POOF!...gone! Somebody made off with my flip-flops! Who does something like that? There's a special place in hell for those who steal shoes!

Forgive me....I'm at home with the flu! :sosad:

My second favorite pair of sandals are NAOTs. They are similar to Birks but tend to fit narrow feet better. I got them at abbadabbas in Atlanta. There should be a website.

Sorry to read that you have the flu. Just in case you were unaware, Birkenstock makes a narrow, aka -"schmal" sandal in most of the styles and colors which they make, and they fit narrow feet very well. ;-)

get well soon olive - the flu is really running rampant in this area. i totally agree with you about shoe thieves. they are the worst kind of scum ! my hubby left his flip flops he wears to the beach out on the porch when we were at inlet beach last summer, and in the morning they was gone with the wind.

I have a pair of NAOTs sandals, too (in storage, more's the pity.) They are blue nubuck and I like to think of them as my blue suede shoes. Funny, they fit me fine, and I have wi-i-ide feet. But maybe with sandals I can spread out more.
Sorry about your flu (my spouse is still getting over it) and there is indeed a special place in hell for shoe thieves--especially beach ones.

Other shoe brands I've discovered:

Riekers (available at Nordstrom's and others--Zappos might have them)

Munroe (some of the comfiest dress sandals I've ever owned, available at Nordstroms)

Clarks do not work very well for me, but would probably be fine for someone with narrower feet.

Mephistos are excellent, and I own a pair, but I think the first two brands I listed, especially Munroe, are just as good for $100 less.

Aerosoles are good for just bopping around town. They don't give the wearer much support though.
