I did hear some peeps on Meet the Press or that other Sunday morning show with George Stephanopolis as host, mention that Thompson was attacking Huckabee. They thought that it might be something worked out behind the scenes for Thompson to rip a few people apart, then bow out of the race, sending his votes in one direction which he favors.

I've thought the same thing. He's got nothing to lose. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Which is why the media (including Fox) is giving him so much flack. At the last debate on Thurs., Fred Thompson raised some of the exact same concerns over Huckabee's record that Mitt did. Has anyone heard a thing about Thompson "attacking" Huckabee? NO! It is amazing how much bias there is. The media is ruining the election process IMO.

I find that an interesting point. Though not usually in my own political interest, I am now going to be watching how Mitt Romney gets handled in the next debates, and in the national coverage. Fairness must occur on both sides!

The Dems didn't have a chance for any delegates (long story about primary being too early). So the "talking heads" were saying that rather than waste a vote, the Dems were advocating that Dems and independents should vote for a Republican who was not a front runner to weaken the strongest Republicans so that that they would not end up in the general election. That sort of happened, although since the independents didn't show up, the weakest candidate didn't win, although McCain and Huckabee didn't win either.

Romney promising that he'd bring back the auto industry and jobs. Please, like that'll happen now that the Chinese are at the big auto show, and without even being in the US market yet, Geely (Chinese) is the third biggest auto manufacturer in the world. McCain promised jobs, but his "straight talk" promised retraining in other industries, something I don't think Michigan residents wanted to hear.

It was a very strong victory over McCain--I'm not a Repub., here, but Mitt should now stick soley to his strengths, his business sense (fix the economy)...and quit trying to dance with the evangelicals.

The talking heads are also saying that the low voter turnout overall helped Romney because the Independents and Democrats, who would have voted for McCain, didn't bother. Too cold and too much snow. Everyone wants to find excuses as to why McCain lost, instead of giving credit to Romney for winning. I guess Michigan spoke tonight.

At least Romney is willing to put up a fight for the lost jobs. America needs new industry and we've got to start somewhere. I rather support a candidate who has real word business experience and who is optimistic about our future than a candidate who's been there, done that, but didn't get anything done.
